Our old TBC UI thread went 32 pages before retiring so I figured we'd start up a new one with all the changes. So post up your screens and/or mod recommendations.
After many hours of tinkering here's what I've come up with. Once I get Ghost Pulse (cooldown notifier) working right and oPie (icon organizer) I can cut the icon clutter in half. So far I'm pretty happy with it.
Out of Combat ------------------- In Combat

Visible Mods:
MSBT - Scrolling Combat Text
Dominos - Bars
SatrinaBuffFrame - Buff bar
Classtimer - Ability Timer Bars
NugComboBar - Slanted Combo Points
Aloft - Nameplate bar (w/ redundant combo points)
AGUnitFrames - Frames for Target/Focus/Self
OmniCC - In-Button Cooldown Timer
Squeenix - Square Minimap
TipTac - Tooltip |

oUF dLx (unit frames) |
More and more I keep thinking about your great unitframe. I know it's a custom and might not be able to do what I want but a few questions:
-Can I change the color of the health or does it change on damage?
-Is that focus target below the main target or ToT? If not Focus, how is it handled (do I need another mod?)
-Most important, can you move the bars independently? (as in player above target instead of side to side).
Thanks for making such a great looking frame! _________________

Thank you, first of all.
The health changes colour if that particular unit's health is at 35% or less, which corresponds with the paladin's hammer of wrath. If your health bar is read, you know what's coming.
Focus frame pops up at the bottom... I'm as unhappy about that as anyone, but I really haven't found a good spot for it. Since I've made the addon public, I guess I might as well accept suggestions.
The whole point of the oUF framework is that you modify the source directly to keep it VERY light weight. The framework clocks in at ~76 kbytes and my style on top of that adds another 17 kbytes.
Keeping that in mind, it IS possible to change it, but not ingame.
What you will have to do is go to the very end of the "layout.lua" file and edit the lines where it says "focus:SetPoint...", "player:SetPoint...", "target:SetPoints..." and "tot:SetPoint..."
There is more on those lines.
Example: | Code: | | player:SetPoint("TOPLEFT", "UIParent", "TOPLEFT", 299.8, dLx.oUF.ypos) |
This anchors "player", at it's top left corner to UIParent, at UIParent's top left corner, x-offset 299.8, y-offset dLx.oUF.ypos. This is the latest version, and in that there is a vars.lua file included where you set the y-offset globally for all frames, so that is where you edit "dLx.oUF.ypos". You can, of course, use a number there, and for "tot" it's actually a relative change... you'll see!
Those are the ONLY lines you will need to touch EVER if you don't know exactly what you're doing.
The obvious problem with this approach is that once I update the unit frames (and you decide to download the update) these files will be replaced. That is the reason I released the latest version, today, with vars.lua included... to at least give a modicum of control over the appearance without needlessly breaking player-made customizations.
Whew... wall of text.
Also, if you're unhappy with the bar or combo point texture, or even the font, you can replace all that by simply overwriting the corresponding files. _________________

Great information, thanks! I have zero concerns modifying files directly, especially as a trade-off for running lightweight. Thanks again! _________________

Will Jimscooldown pulse work off the CDs of OmniCC? I want the icons to pop up in the middle of my screen when the CDs are up. Despite if it's a 2min cd or a 10sec cd. _________________

I have updated my classtimer mod multiple, multiple times, but I keep having a freeze issue with it. Anyone else getting that? Of course, I think we broke our server with a city raid this weekend the lag is terribad. _________________

While I couldn't get grimman's awesome frames to do quite what I wanted,
it definitely inspired me! I did a complete WotLK snow-themed rework
with some additions. Still needs some tidying up (chat arrows, etc).
-------FrostyUI-------

and timed a GhostPulse (stealth ready) for screenshot purposes.

New mods in bold:
MSBT - Scrolling Combat Text
Dominos - Bars
ElkanoBuffBars - Buff Bar
Classtimer - Ability Timer Bars (split for player/target)
Aloft - Nameplate bar (w/ redundant combo points)
AGUnitFrames - Frames for Target/Focus/Self
OmniCC - In-Button Cooldown Timer
Squeenix - Square Minimap
TipTac - Tooltip
Buttonfacade - Custom Frosty Icons
Sunn Viewport Art - Frosty Bottom Frame

I can't get ClassTimer to work since the patch either. I don't see any errors, but it just won't show anything. The Options Menu works fine, but the mod itself just doesn't operate. Am I missing something? |

this may be a silly question but..
can i adapt the ui's that have been posted here to work at 1280x1024 resolution (they all seem to be in much higher resolutions then what my monitor is capable of)? _________________ Beware the devil in you... you know deep down you want to 1 shot clothies with your ambush |

Sure, most mods don't really care about the resolution though you may have to tweak sizes if you were to copy one directly. Even a mod like Sunn Viewport (for the artwork on my FrosyUI) seems to fully support and adjust based on the resolution. _________________

A mod that I found and LOVE is called "Need To Know". It lets you set up a timer bar to specifically monitor a buff/debuff.
I tried using various others, and went crazy as their default was to monitor everything, and then let you slowly chip away at stuff that you don't want.
In my case, all I ever wanted was to watch Hunger for Blood...
So that's what I'm using to monitor HfB. I'm also using it for SnD now that SliceWatcher is dead. It's not as good for SnD as SliceWatcher was, but it serves the main purpose of watching HfB that I wanted it for.
I should try to find a screenshot... _________________

I've already mentioned this in another topic, but it's quite simply a matter of adding another buff group to Elkano's Buff Bars and white-list slice + whatever else you want to make a neat slice-timer. Since I'm already using EBB to monitor my other buffs it's the simplest option by far. _________________

Question:
What addon has the ability to tell me how much time is left on a buff/ability such as a target mages frost armor, a Paladins bubble, etc. ? |
